Accessibility Policy

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

Statement of organizational commitment

Global Pet Foods is committed to ensuring equal access to information and communications, employment opportunities, transportation and the design of public spaces that are consistent with the principles outlined in the Accessibility Standard for Customer Service, dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity.

Our goal is to create and maintain an atmosphere that everyone can feel comfortable and welcome in, regardless of a disability.  We are focused on integration, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner.  We plan to maintain this goal by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Human Rights Code.

Application

This plan applies to all Global Pet Foods offices, facilities, and stores.

Global Pet Foods currently does not have any Self-Service Kiosks at any of its offices or stores.  Any future plans to implement Self-Service Kiosks will take into account all accessibility requirements.

Accessible Emergency Information

Global Pet Foods will provide all publicly available emergency information in an accessible way upon request, consulting with the individuals requiring the accommodation to identify the best solution/format.

Our emergency procedures are available in hard copy at our head office and at each of our stores.  We will provide individual copies upon request, consulting with the individuals requiring the accommodation to identify the best solution/format of accommodation.

All employees with disabilities (where we are aware) are provided with individual workplace accommodation plans, including emergency response plans.

Training

All employees and volunteers are trained on Ontario’s Accessibility Laws and the Human Rights Code as they relate to people with disabilities within 1 month of hire as part of their orientation and will be trained within 1 month of policies being updated.
