THE “Scratch & Win” CONTEST
CONTEST RULES (the “Rules”)

The “Scratch & Win” contest (the “Contest”) is organized by Global Pet Foods L.P. (the “Contest Sponsor”). The Contest begins on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 12:00am EST or store opening, whichever is later (the “Contest Opening Date”), and ends on Sunday, November 20, 2024 at 11:59pm EST or store closing, whichever is earlier (the “Contest Closing Date”).

ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to all residents of Canada, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence by the Contest Opening Date, except for employees, agents, mandataries and representatives of the Contest Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, affiliated companies, advertising or promotion agencies, the suppliers of material, prizes and services related to this Contest, and any other stakeholder directly related to the holding of the Contest, as well as the members of their immediate family (father, mother, brothers, sisters, children and legal or de facto spouse) and anyone with whom these employees, representatives and agents reside. Entrants may be asked to provide proof of residency prior to being declared a winner.
HOW TO PLAY
1. TO PLAY: Commencing on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 12:00am EST or store opening, whichever is later, customers at any Global Pet Foods and Pitou Minou & Compagnons/Global® stores across Canada will receive one Contest Scratch Card with any purchase, while supplies last.
  
  Each Scratch Card contains one (1) scratch section (“Scratch”), that when uncovered, reveals a Prize message printed on the card. A prize message will describe the specific prize available to be won. To claim your prize, refer to instructions which follow under General Rules, but to be eligible, all prize claims must be claimed by January 10, 2025, at 11:00pm EST.
2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PLAY: To obtain a FREE Scratch Card and/or a copy of the official rules, please send a FREE Scratch Card request in writing to: Global Pet Foods, ATTN: National Marketing Manager, 2-294 Walker Drive, Brampton ON L6T 4Z2
  
  All requests for a FREE Scratch Card must be postmarked by November 20, 2024 at 11:59pm EST and received by December 8, 2024 at 11:59pm EST. Limit of one FREE Scratch Card request per envelope with sufficient postage, while supplies last. No mechanical reproductions of requests permitted. All FREE Scratch Card requests must include a postage-paid, self-addressed envelope.

SCRATCH CARDS

There are a total of 201,000 Scratch Cards produced. Scratch Cards will be available for distribution through to November 20, 2024, at 11:59pm EST or store closing, whichever is earlier, or while supplies last, whichever occurs first. It is anticipated, based on estimated distribution, that these Scratch Cards will be distributed within the three (3) regions as follows:

  13. Two Thousand (2,000) Prizes of Two (2) FREE FirstMate Wet Food Cans (12.2oz Dog or 5.5oz Cat). This is an “Instant Win” Prize and redeemable at time of scratching the card.
  14. Two Thousand (2,000) Prizes of One (1) FREE ACANA Dog Chewy Strips or One(1) ORIJEN Freeze Dried Cat Treats. This is an “Instant Win” Prize and redeemable at time of scratching the card.
  15. Three Thousand Five Hundred(3,500) Prizes of Two (2) FREE Fromm Wet Food Cans (Dog or Cat, Any Formula or Size). This is an “Instant Win” Prize and redeemable at time of scratching the card.
  16. Fifty-Three Thousand (53,000) Prizes of Fifteen Percent (15%) off one cat or dog toy of the winner’s choice. Applies to toys at regular price. This is an “Instant Win” Prize and redeemable at time of scratching the card.
  17. Fifty-Three Thousand (53,000) Prizes of Fifteen Percent (15%) off one cat or dog treat of the winner’s choice. Applies to treats at regular price. This is an “Instant Win” Prize and redeemable at time of scratching the card.
  18. Twenty-Five Thousand(25,000) Prizes of Twenty-Five Percent (25%) off one cat or dog collar or leash of the winner’s choice. Applies to toys at regular price. This is an “Instant Win” Prize and redeemable at time of scratching the card.

All Prizes will be awarded to winners by the Contest Sponsor (defined below).

*The approximate retail value of an AIR MILES® Reward Miles™ Prize depends on the chosen method of redemption, available Reward options at the time of redemption, and the set preference between AIR MILES Cash and AIR MILES Dream Accounts. If redeemed with AIR MILES Cash, 95 Cash Miles can be used in-store for $10 towards purchases at participating AIR MILES Partners or 95 Cash Miles can be used online for eVouchers for $10 worth of value at participating Reward Partners. If redeemed for flights value depends on destination chosen, date of travel and use of multiple carriers or suppliers. Winner must pay applicable taxes, related transportation fees, governmental levies, excess baggage and other non-ticket costs. The value of AIR MILES Reward Miles used for non-flight Reward options depends on Reward options in effect at the time of redemption. AIR MILES Reward Miles prize is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the AIR MILES Reward Program as amended from time to time. AIR MILES Reward Miles Prize is not transferable or convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded.

GENERAL RULES
1. Contest commences on November 7, 2024, at 12:00am EST or store opening, whichever is later, and Scratch Cards will be available at all Global Pet Foods and Pitou Minou & Compagnons/Global® locations across Canada through November 20, 2024, at 11:59pm EST or store closing, whichever is earlier, or while supplies last, whichever occurs first. To be eligible, INSTANT WIN prizes as outlined above claims must be redeemed in store by December 8, 2024, at 11:59pm EST or store closing. To be eligible, all other prizes must be claimed through the Global Pet Foods Corporate Office in Brampton ON by January 10, 2025, at 11:00pm EST.
2. All “Winning” Scratch Cards for three thousand dollars Canadian ($3,000 CDN) Travel Vouches, 2,500 AIR MILES® Reward Miles™, one thousand dollars Canadian ($1,000 CDN)Global Pet Foods or Pitou Minou & Compagnons Gift Cards, 1,000 AIR MILES® Reward Miles™, one hundred dollars Canadian ($100 CDN) Global Pet Foods or Pitou Minou & Compagnons Gift Card, 100 AIR MILES® Reward Miles™, or 50 AIR MILES® Reward Miles™ have been individually inspected, produced, and confirmed to be completely legible. Liability for irregular, illegible, or blank Scratch Cards is limited to replacement with another Scratch Card, while supplies last. If, due to a production, printing error, or any other type of error, there are more Prize claims than Prizes for any level, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to award any remaining Prizes for that level through a random drawing of all eligible Prize claims for that level. It is extremely rare to receive an irregular, illegible, or blank Scratch Card, but should it occur, it could only be for a mass-produced “INSTANT WIN” prize (as outlined above). If this should occur, return the irregular, illegible, or blank Scratch Card to the Staff Member in store and they will provide you with a new Scratch Card, while supplies last.
3. Contest Scratch Cards obtained through unauthorized sources, or which are incomplete, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged, counterfeited, or irregular in any way, are automatically void. No Scratch Card copies, duplicates, or reproductions of any time will be eligible for the contest. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any lost Scratch Cards. Scratch Cards are the property of the Contest Sponsor, and may not be used for any other promotional, commercial, or other purposes without the authorization of the Contest Sponsor
4. Prize claimant must be a resident of Canada. To be eligible to claim a Prize, Prize claimants must have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence or in the event a person under the age of majority receives an eligible “Winning” Scratch Card, they are permitted to transfer such Scratch Card to their parent or legal guardian, who will then be the eligible entrant.
5. Employees, representatives or agents of, or those domiciled with an employee, representative or agent of, Global Pet Foods L.P. (the “Contest Sponsor”) or AIR MILES Loyalty Inc., the consulting, advertising and promotion agencies of the Contest Sponsor, the Scratch Card suppliers, Scratch Card distributors & carriers are not eligible to participate nor win a Prize in this Contest. Employees, representatives or agents of Global Pet Foods L.P. and Pitou Minou & Compagnons/Global® as described in this paragraph are limited to those employees, representatives or agents who are providing services in any way to Global Pet Foods L.P. and Pitou Minou & Compagnons/Global®. The Contest is not open and void where prohibited by law.
6. By participating in this Contest, each entrant (and, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) agrees to be bound by these official rules and all decisions of the Contest Sponsor, which are final. Without limitation, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to administer an alternate skill-testing question as it deems appropriate to address discrimination or disability issues.
7. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not convertible to cash by prize claimants. Winning Scratch Cards are not transferable or convertible to cash except as specifically provided herein.
8. Each confirmed winner will be notified by and/or will receive their Prize from the Contest Sponsor. All Prize claims become the property of the Contest Sponsor and no correspondence will be entered into except with potential and confirmed winners. By participating in this Contest, confirmed winners are deemed to have consented to the disclosure of their personal information to Prize suppliers for the limited purpose of delivery of Prizes. By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Contest Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing, and using the personal information only for the purpose of administering the contest and in accordance with the Contest Sponsor’s privacy policy (available in English at www.globalpetfoods.com/privacy-policy). This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide to the Contest Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
9. By claiming a Prize, Prize claimants consent to the use of their name and/or photograph, and/or place of residence, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Contest Sponsor in perpetuity and in any media world wide.
10. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, mutilated, or misdirected Scratch Cards.
11. By accepting a Prize, winners release the Contest Sponsor and their parent, affiliated, and related companies, from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any Prize.
12. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or modify the contest at any time, if it determines that for any reason the contest cannot be run as originally planned or for any other occurrence compromising the fairness or integrity of the contest
13. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these English official rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest related materials, including, but not limited to: the Prize claim forms, point of sale, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these English official rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, in the event the Contest Sponsor becomes aware of any such discrepancy or inconsistency, the Contest Sponsor will place a correction notice on their website in the News section at www.globalpetfoods.com.
14. This contest is managed by Global Pet Foods L.P and Pitou Minou & Compagnons/Global®. AIR MILES Loyalty Inc. is in no way connected to the management of this contest.
HOW TO CLAIM AN INSTANT WIN PRIZE
1. If the claimant is eligible to win an “INSTANT WIN” prize, as previously outlined, this prize can be claimed at the time of scratching the Scratch Card on the same transaction until November 20, 2024, or until December 8, 2024 on a separate transaction.
HOW TO CLAIM A NON INSTANT WIN PRIZE
1. If the claimant is eligible to win any prize not categorized as “INSTANT WIN”, as previously outlined, the claimant must follow the below steps to claim their prize:
  1. KEEP the winning Scratch Card.
  2. Email contest@globalpetfoods.ca the unique code found on the winning Scratch Card in the scratch area and the type of prize the claimant is eligible for.
  3. The Contest Sponsor will reply with a Prize Claim Form that must be fully completed to claim the prize. Included on the Prize Claim form is a mathematical skill-testing question that must be correctly answered before the claimant can claim a prize.
    
    NOTE: the claimant must notify contest@globalpetfoods.ca by 11:00pm EST on January 10, 2025 in order to qualify. Any Prize claims received after 11:00pm EST on January 10, 2025, will be deemed null and void.
  4. The claimant will then have to mail their completed form (if applicable) and winning Scratch Card to the Global Pet Foods corporate office in Brampton, ON for verification. The Mailing Address is as follows:

  5. Once the claimant’s form has been received by the Contest Sponsor, and all information as well as the winning Scratch Card is verified, the Contest Sponsor will coordinate issuing the Prize.
  6. To use the Travel Voucher, you must be an AIR MILES® Collector; non-collectors need to join the program to use it. By enrolling to become an AIR MILES Collector, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES® Reward Program as amended from time to time. The Voucher is for one-time use and can be applied toward Flights, Hotels, or Car Rentals booked on https://travel.airmiles.ca/or by contacting AIR MILES® Ambassador by calling 1-888-247-6453 , with taxes and fees covered to ensure a free trip. You must book your travel within one year from the Voucher’s issue date and complete the travel within two years. The Voucher is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash, and any unused balance will be forfeited. All bookings are subject to availability. Any costs exceeding the Voucher’s value are your responsibility. Changes or cancellations are subject to Air Miles policies, and fees may apply, which can be paid with remaining Voucher funds. We are not liable for any travel-related issues; you assume all risks. By using the Voucher, you agree to these terms and the Air Miles program terms. Note: This Voucher is intended to provide a FREE trip by covering eligible travel expenses, including taxes
  7. In the case of the AIR MILES® Reward Miles prizes, if the claimant is not already an AIR MILES® Collector, they may enroll in the AIR MILES® Reward Program by visiting airmiles.ca. By enrolling to become an AIR MILES Collector, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES® Reward Program as amended from time to time.
  8. In the case of the AIR MILES® Reward Miles prizes, the prize will be posted directly into the AIR MILES® Collector Account of the confirmed winner 6-8 weeks after the prize is claimed. To ensure that the winner receives the prize in their preferred Account, winner should ensure their balance preference (AIR MILES® Cash Account and AIR MILES® Dream Account) is set as desired prior to the Prize being posted in their Collector Account.
